Benefit History Wall

Benefit Cosmetics
Benefit wanted to update their history wall with a more dynamic and dimensional version.
Challenge

When Benefit Cosmetics moved their headquarters office in San Francisco they wanted to update and improve their history wall with a more dynamic and dimensional version. So, they came to Figure Plant to execute their idea. Their concept takes us from 1972 when Benefit founders and twins, Jean and Jane Ford, booked their first commercial to the present day with memorable key milestones in between.

Solution

This wasn’t just any timeline plastered on a wall. Benefit’s story comes to life with 3D visuals to make their story stand out even more. Figure Plant turned to their trusty CNC router* to machine oversized objects for the wall. Our team created whimsical pieces, from a retro television that plays BeneTV reels to an illuminated globe that celebrates Benefit’s expansion overseas. The timeline also marks some of their most famous products with oversized versions. Their best-selling POREfessional pore primer sits in 2010 next to a live counter. The famous They’re Real! Mascara marks 2011, its year of release. *We can 3D print those same pieces now with our new large-format 3D printer!

Results

Each piece was fabricated and prepared to perfection. So much so that it’s difficult to tell the difference between the original design and the real thing. The wall was set up and completed in less than a day in their offices in San Francisco. With the abandonment of offices last year due to COVID, this history wall is an exciting addition that will welcome back employees and delight visitors. We are proud to help Benefit Cosmetics share their success story of uplifting women and people with their products. Because, as they say, laughter is the best cosmetic.
