State Street Seattle LED Light Sculpture

Creating a unique custom lighting sculpture for visionary LED artist Kenzan Tsutakawa-Chinn, co-founder and principal at Studio 1 Thousand, is not a new challenge for Figure Plant. But without a doubt, never-been-done, permanent lighting sculptures placed outdoors and in high-traffic public spaces require ingenuity, creativity, collaboration, and courage.

First and foremost it’s about collaboration. Leaning into our positioning of bridging great ideas and reality, the Figure Plant team entered the conversations with curiosity and energy. The design process is iterative and Studio 1 Thousand brings clarity and flexibility to the table. Together we sketched, calculated, estimated, prototyped, sampled, and reviewed until we landed on an approach that fulfilled the vision, met the budget, and installed on time.
